Hello There .... Again.
So I have my living room painted, and my pictures up.
Then I realized that I have yet to take any good pictures of the finished room!
I started my garden again.
I found some. They are cell phone quality.

And The Project Begins . . .
We're going to be painting our living room.
We have ancient paneling.
If it was just old, it wouldn't be a problem. But with decades of wear and tear it has to be painted.
I am just going to prime it and paint it.
Freedom and I spent the afternoon washing the paneling.
It was interesting.
I did learn that "Awesome", if sprayed undiluted on paneling and left for a while will start to "eat" away at the finish. And that a three year old can manage to make a bucket of water disspear in no time.
What we are starting with...
Note the awesome green couch and chair.
It was made in 1947 in Thomasville, North Carolina.
We found it almost brand new for $25.
Oh and that's a bag of clothes in the chair, ready to be given away.
And I had started on a photo collage, of various frames but put it on hold waiting to paint.
Using the virtual painter on Valspar's website, I was able to test out a few colours.
I will probably be going with a different paint company to be honest though, but I like trying out the different colours.
A hint: Use a GOOD picture.
I was born in the wrong era I tell you!
Here is a photo that can sum up my inspirational palette.

Dress Hunting
I saw a girl last weekend and I should have asked her where she bought her dress.
It reminded me of a 1950's dress.
The one where you would wear a cute floppy fat.
(I am so awesome at this fashion stuff)
I went on an image searching quest, and can't quite find what I would like.
I guess I am on the hunt for the perfect dress.

Lent
I am not Catholic.
My Mother and her family are.
I was raised mostly by my Father, and his side of the family is Protestant.
Since I was a child, I have always chose to give something up for Lent.
This year, I have decided to give up soda.
And "white" foods... You know, essentially bad carbs.
White Bread
White Sugar
White Potatoes
I have been wanting to kick the soda habit for a while.
So Mardi Gras was, well, a Fat Tuesday for me.
We went to Cici's Pizza and I gorged on a pizza buffett.
It just happened to time up with my husband's monthly trip to his Orthopaedic Doctor.
Then, I had a pint of Ben and Jerry's FroYo.
Oh, and after a stop at Walmart, I had quite a few Peanut M&M's.
I experienced what I have termed a "Pizza Hangover".
Basically, I end up dehydrated from all the extra carbs and sodium.
Today has went pretty well being soda free.
And no "Pizza hangover".

Jump Rope For Heart
February is heart health month.
I think its important for Children to know how to take care of themselves. Through Jump Rope For Heart, children learn about their hearts and how to keep them healthy.
Heart disease is the number one killer of women.
The signs of a heart attack are sometimes different for women then men.
Some women say they experience anxiety and nausea.
My mother suffered a heart attack back in December.
My son is participating in Jump Rope For Heart at his school.
The above link will take you to his page if you would like to make a donation.
If he can collect $40, he gets to go a field trip with his gym class. I believe he also gets a few little prizes like a jump rope, t-shirt and water bottle.
If you could visit his page and donate, we would greatly appreciate it.
The American Heart Association would surely appreciate it as well.
